Thousands of seafarers use the hostel facility during sign on/sign off or when they are searching for jobs. The cost of staying at the hostel in a costly city like Mumbai is just Rs. 20/- per day since last 20 years because of the terms of the NUSI Collective Bargaining Agreements making it possible for the seafarers to stay for just Rs. 20/- per day.
NUSI has already provided many facilities for the residing seafarers. NUSI will also provide Wi-fi facility free of cost at the hostel and home premises soon.
