ADMISSION OF ORDINARY MEMBERS :

  1. Any seamen or any person who is or has been employed or who is employable in the shipping industry or ancillary or connected industry shall be eligible to become an ordinary member of the Union subject to approval by the Executive Committee and on payment of the admission fee and annual membership subscription as decided by the Executive Committee from time to time, provided the member agrees to abide by the rules, regulations and bye- laws of the Union as amended from time to time. Separate benefits for seamen and non- seamen will be decided by the Executive Committee.
  2. Admission subscription : Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand only)
  3. Annual membership subscription on Indian Flag ships : Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand only)
  4. Annual membership subscription on Foreign Flag ships : Rs. 2,400/- (Rupees Two Thousand Four Hundred only)
  5. Any ordinary member can continue his annual membership subscription on payment of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) during the period of unemployment on ship. He can pay the subscription arrears, if any, at the time of employment on ship.
  6. The Admission fee for any person, other than seamen, employed in shipping or ancillary or connected industry will be Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only). The Annual membership subscription for such members shall be Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only).
  7. All arrears of membership subscription shall be paid at the present rate as mentioned above.
  8. The General Secretary cum Treasurer in consultation with the President is authorized to enroll provisionally a seamen eligible under clause 3(i) as an ordinary member till the next meeting of the Executive Committee, but permanently only subject to the approval by the Executive Committee at its next meeting.
  9. Annual membership subscription will be subjected to revision by the General Body from time to time.

 

NOTE:

  1. Presently Online Membership subscription payment facility has been initiated only for the regular members of the Union joining foreign flag ships. ( i. e. Rs. 2,400/- )
  2. Seafarers can become members by visiting personally at NUSI Head Office OR NUSI Branch Offices pan India.
  3. Membership subscription can also be made at NUSI Head Office OR NUSI Branch Offices Pan India.

 

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY :

Facility of cancellation or refund of amount paid is not available online. This facility is available at NUSI Head Office only.
